meshcore.at is a non-commercial community portal. We process as little personal data as possible — there are no user accounts, no newsletters, and no advertising or analytics services.

Hosting & Server Logs

This website runs on our own server in Austria, behind a reverse proxy hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). When you visit the site, the following data is processed in server log files for technical reasons:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • requested page or file
  • browser identifier (user agent) and referrer

This processing is necessary to operate the website and to ensure security (e.g. abuse and overload protection), based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log files are rotated automatically and deleted after a short period. They are not merged with other data or shared with third parties.

Cookies

This website uses a single, purely functional cookie (lang) that stores your language preference (German/English). It contains no personal data, is not used for tracking, and expires after 12 months. No tracking, analytics or advertising cookies are used, so no cookie banner is required.

OpenStreetMap

The home page embeds an interactive map. Map tiles are loaded from servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF, St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge, United Kingdom). Your IP address is transmitted to the OSMF in the process. The map is embedded based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in displaying mesh network coverage). The UK is covered by an EU adequacy decision. Details: OSMF Privacy Policy.

Contact by Email

If you contact us by email, your details (email address, message content) are processed solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and deleted once no longer required for that purpose.

Your Rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). Simply contact admin@meshcore.at.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at).
